The Cascade Mountains that encase Seattle make for some of the most spectacular scenery in the US. This tour crosses over Stevens Pass where you will dine in Leavenworth, a quaint little Bavarian Village. From here we follow mining heritage over Blewitt Pass before turning back over Snoqualmie Pass on I-90 into Seattle. The ride offers mountain riding on twisty roads, ice cream cone mountain scenery and rushing streams that vary from gentle to threatening, depending on your vantage point from each bend in the road.
Mt. Rainier is the highest peak in the Cascade range, standing at 14,410 feet above sea level. With 26 major glaciers, geothermal heat rising from this living volcano keeps both crater rims free of snow and ice. This ride takes you completely around Mt. Rainier with stops at Sunrise and Paradise, for opportunities to see it from every direction and twisty roads all along the way.
In 1981, nearly 230 square miles of forest was blown down or buried beneath volcanic deposits when Mt. St. Helens literally exploded. A mushroom-shaped column of ash rose thousands of feet skyward, turning day into night. The mountain and surrounding landscape were dramatically changed within moments. A year later the 110,000-acre National Volcanic Monument was set aside for research, recreation, and education. This ride takes you into the heart of the monument, stopping at Windy Ridge, where you can see for yourself how the environment has responded to this profound disturbance.
22 miles of shear pleasure and no stop signs, Chuckanut Drive winds it's way north from Burlington to Bellingham taking you through various scenic expanses including meadowlands and a twisty spin along the coastline of Chuckanut Bay. Some say it is like cruising through the countryside in Europe. This tour will offer views of the drive both directions, with opportunities for wildlife, tall forests, and spectacular views of the San Juan Islands. The ride avoids freeway but includes a ferry ride across Puget Sound.
See one of the most remote regions of one of the most remote states in the lower 48. This ride begins in Kalispell and wanders through deep valleys shadowed by impressive mountains, follows swerving shoreline of a ninety mile-long reservoir, and chases two rivers back towards the starting point.
If you see nothing else in the state of Montana, the road carved through Glacier National Park is the most spectacular. On a bike, with incredible views of glacial carved valleys, jagged peaks, and pristine wilderness; you will think you have momentarily been transformed to Switzerland. See the best of the best on this short stunning tour.
Ever wondered what happened to the meanest grizzlies- the ones that get too close to tourists in Glacier Park? They transfer them to "the Bob." Circle the Bob Marshall wilderness as you cross the continental divide twice. Ride south on the Atlantic Ocean side of the continental divide and north on the Pacific Ocean side with constant views of snow-capped peaks. The route passes remote mountain lakes, winds next to swift rivers and was isolated enough that the Unabomber made this area his home for almost 25 years.
